Rongatapu 1982, directed by Adityam Saikia, has been declared the Best Assamese Film at the 71st National Film Awards announced on Friday, August 1. The film was recognised for its bold narrative and portrayal of societal unrest through a deeply personal and character-driven story set in rural Assam.

Midnight Song is a Assamese movie released on 29 Jan, 2021. The movie is directed by Arunjit Borah and featured Monuj Borkotoky, Kalpana Kalita and Rupam Chetia as lead characters.

"Bhaimon Da" tells the biographical story of Assamese filmmaker Munin Barua, exploring his life from his youth to his final days, as well as the challenges faced by Assamese cinema during his time.
