Real life tragic story of Arakel whose anguish towards lost homeland made him cross Soviet-Turkish border during Stalin era.

The film depicts five workers who are laying a street in one of the new districts of Yerevan. A complex relationship binds them. Each of them has his character and his destiny. The film touches upon common social problems on a private level.

Two criminals decide to steal a rare postage stamp, but there is a man in the apartment who becomes their hostage.

About the early years of Soviet power in Armenia. The protagonist of the film is the chairman of the revolutionary committee in a provincial town, where not everyone has yet come to terms with the new regime.

For a favorable attitude from his bosses Armen is ready to give up his material welfare but not his duty, honor or conscience.
