Naralwadi Sarpanch Vishwasrao is father of two daughters and has huge estate but his mother wants a grandson who in future can take care of their estate. Vishwasrao reasons that he being Sarpanch of village does not have enough time to spend with his wife so his mother prays that he should lose the election.

An army officer from a small village passes away after he marries a girl. The whole village, including both her families, decide to disown her owing to her being unlucky.

Shock and surprises are in store for them when Aarti not only refuses to sign the papers but starts behaving strangely - as though she has been possessed by a spirit.

Despite being in love with a modern woman, a sub-inspector from Mumbai is forced to marry a village belle. Soon, problems arise as he struggles to adjust to her rural ways of life.

Shripa a wrestler gets attracted towards a mysterious women Shevanti living in abandoned mansion.The villagers suspect Shevanti is a ghost and that Shirpa has lost his mind.

Sakharam comes to city in search of work. He starts assisting his uncle, who works as a typist outside the post office. Innocent Namya the son of the tough Shitabai, is taken by his friends to see a Tamasha performance. He goes to the next village to see the performance again, where as the actor who is to play the monkey-god Hanuman gets drunk, He is invited to understudy the part. Namya's distraught mother kicks him out of the house, but the dancer Kalavati offers him shelter. Then a simpleton Namya falls in love with the glamours Kalavati.
