Améli Pineda is an investigative journalist at the newspaper Le Devoir. She was named Journalist of the Year at the 2021 National Newspaper Awards, alongside her colleague Magdaline Boutros, for their reporting on the devastating impact of domestic violence in Quebec. In 2017, she co-authored an investigation with Monic Néron and Émilie Perreault into allegations of sexual misconduct against Gilbert Rozon. For this article—which was a landmark moment for the #MoiAussi (#MeToo) movement in Quebec—the three journalists were awarded the prestigious Judith-Jasmin Award in the Investigative Reporting category in 2018.
