Alexandra Matheou is a screenwriter and director. Her work explores the intersection of the intimate and the social, with a focus on female subjectivity, class, and belonging. Set within shifting folds of reality, her films often inhabit the space between the ordinary and the absurd. Her short films have screened at festivals and museums worldwide. Her latest short film, Free Eliza (Notes on an Anatomical Imperfection), premiered at Quinzaine des Cinéastes in Cannes.
