Alice Grayson's uncle develops a wireless torpedo that can be controlled by radio. He meets two sailors who tell him a completely made-up story about buried treasure, in order to get him to charter the boat of a financially struggling young girl they know. He hires a crew of tough sailors and sets sail to find the "treasure", but winds up having a lot more "adventure" than he was looking for.
