While his uncle is traveling, an irresponsible young man spends a fortune on sprees with friends and lady sweethearts, but when the creditors start pressuring for cash, he pretends to lose his memory, although not fooling his fiancée.

The film narrates the adventures of the trickster Juca Moleza in the carnival while he has to deal with the consequences of the scams he applied to people of high society.

Dona Xepa is a vegetable stand owner. She dreams about the success of her scientist son. The film is based on the play by Pedro Bloch.
