Ann Hamilton

Depicts an overflowing mouth.

This video is of a mouth (Hamilton’s) with stone marbles rolling around inside it and almost slipping out— a sensuous, tantalizing, suspenseful gesture—or conversely, almost slipping in—a tense evocation of choking or suffocating.

The third part of a trilogy regarding "feral domesticity," following "Strangely Ordinary This Devotion" (2017) and "Come Coyote" (2019). "Future from Inside" is a meditation on the environment, domestic space, queer desire, and magic.

Shows a part of the body filled beyond its capacity to absorb a flow of water.
