The year 2002 is the 2nd year in the history of World Extreme Cagefighting, a mixed martial arts promotion based in the United States. In 2002 WEC held 3 events beginning with, WEC 3: All or Nothing.

World Extreme Cagefighting returned to The Palace Indian Gaming Center in Lemoore, California for the ninth installment of promoters Scott Adams' and Reed Harris' emerging event. With a few big name guys and a packed stable of home grown talent, the WEC has started to make a push towards the top of the pack when it comes to regional events.

WEC 6: Return of a Legend was a mixed martial arts event promoted by World Extreme Cagefighting on March 27, 2003 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California. The event was centered around the return of MMA superstar Frank Shamrock taking on Bryan Pardoe. Shamrock had been retired and not competed in MMA since December 2000.
