A film documenting contemporary Latvian reality along the banks of the river Gauja while channelling one of the first Latvian sound documentary films, Gauja (1934). “Along with producers Sandijs Semjonovs and Gundars Rēders and editor Atis Klimovičs, we witnessed incidents and events along the banks of the river some 80 years later. We captured them along with the views of folks on this river in a documentally poetic style reflecting the reality in Latvia,” explains director Mārtiņš Grauds.

The little friends Lupatiņi—Sockie, Mitten, Pillowie, and Hanky—go to wash up in the evening. They discover that there is no bathroom monster, get to know water and the faucet, enjoy swimming, and compose a song about washing for the Cat.

A sister and brother dream of the same adventures, though each interprets their dream differently. A dream travels where we are not, and where each misfortune turns into a new opportunity, but the goal always remains unattainable.

Little foxes march to the thunder of a drum. Will Dad manage to get them to breakfast?

Shammies are playing Chutes and Ladders. Sockie is not doing too well, she would rather do something else, like, got married. But to whom?

Shammies long to have a pet. They know they would need to take care of it and everyone is ready to build a house for it. But what kind of pet it will be?

This film about four legionnaires attempts to give them back their past. Kazimirs Šusts, Jānis Mencis, Imants Zeltiņš, Kārlis Smiltēns – they were born and raised at the same time as the Latvian state, and together with it they were drawn into a war in which both the state and the people's hope and struggle was to stay alive. However, the war did not destroy them, and each of them survived and found refuge in the Latvian state. They had enough strength to resist the hostile Soviet present and the difficulties of exile, to maintain their humanity, to work and to await the return of the Latvian state.

Shammies' room is so messy it is not possible to find anything anymore. Mr. Cat suggests to spring-clean. To tidy up the house Shammies need to find out where each thing lives.

Shammies are four curious little creatures: Sockie, Hankie, Mitten, and Pillow. They are eager to explore the world and find out answers to tricky questions, like - who lives in the bathroom?, can one get well by eating candy?, what is the best place to hide? Luckily, their dear companion Mr Cat is always around to help.
