Yifan Jiang

A destitute man builds a life for himself out of furniture that has washed up on the shore, making an unremarkable patch of beach his home.

After receiving a name from its grandmother, a baby is faced with the prospects of knowledge, love and death in a game of two truths and a lie.

A collaborative film between Yifan Jiang and James Mercer

The merry-go-round of life as realized on a Shōwa-era street corner.

The animated short chronicles the events followed by humanity’s sudden loss of language on one unsuspecting Sunday morning. Told from the perspective of two protagonists originating from opposite sides of the world, the Fable-esque tale is a thought experiment exploring the limits of language and human empathy.
