In a rural Mexican community where traditions hold great importance, a small LGBT group decides to organize their first Gay Pride during the village carnival that's been taking place annually for decades.

Yollotl connects the past and the present through a love story inspired by Mesoamerican mythology and testimonials from children who live in the Mayan rainforest. A story in Nahuatl and a ritual song accompanies the journey through the interior of ancient trees to the universe.

This short film is about Dana Karvelas, a Mexican transvestite that goes to the north of France to relieve the pain of the loss of her mother and thus answer the question: Both in the carnival and in the face of death, are we not all the same?
