Jon Einarsson Gustafsson

When Canadian director Sturla Gunnarsson set upon Iceland to film Beowulf & Grendel starring Gerard Butler and Stellan Skarsgard in 2004, they expected the usual complication involved in making a movie, but what they encountered made them wonder if the Norse gods were actually working against them.

A young woman inherits her grandmothers home, despite never having met her and never been to her house. Her mother tells her to make a journey to her grandmothers home as a way to deal with grief, but she gets more than she bargained for.

After robbing a diamond courier, two thieves throw their stolen treasure into the back of an unsuspecting woman's pickup truck when they are stopped by the police.

After a failed attempt at a hostel luggage room hook up, Sam and Naomi think they will never see each other again. When a volcano erupts, grounding all flights, they suddenly find themselves stranded – together. In a stolen car, the pair embark on a quest to capture the first images of the eruption. The ensuing road trip into the Icelandic highlands uncovers their vulnerabilities as they navigate their fears of commitment, the weight of their secrets and the thrills of connection in a world where they can no longer swipe left.

This is a story of a little girl overcoming her fear. When we see her for the first time she is at her home, scared of the world that surrounds her. She is an observer when she watches her parents argue and other kids play. She has no friends and other kids often laugh at her. That causes her to shut off and makes her shy and afraid to become visible to others. But when she sees a classmate bullied by two older boys, she is the only one who takes a stand and causes other kids to acknowledge her. She overcomes her shyness and fear.
