Çelo is a village boy who was orphaned at the age of two. After becoming an orphan, he is forced to grow up with his cruel uncle and aunt. The only thing that kept him tied to the village was his deep love for his uncle's daughter, Kezik. As he grew older, Çelo struggled to survive as a shepherd, but eventually he could no longer endure his uncle and aunt's cruelty and ran away from home at the age of 14. Leaving the village with the intention of returning to take Kezik, Çelo finds her married to someone she does not love when he returns years later.
