When Ruth's husband dies in New York, in 2000, she imposes strict Jewish mourning, which puzzles her children. A stranger comes to the house - Ruth's cousin - with a picture of Ruth, age 8, in Berlin, with a woman the cousin says helped Ruth escape. Hannah, Ruth's daughter engaged to a gentile, goes to Berlin to find the woman, Lena Fisher, now 90. Posing as a journalist investigating intermarriage, Hannah interviews Lena who tells the story of a week in 1943 when the Jewish husbands of Aryan women were detained in a building on Rosenstrasse. The women gather daily for word of their husbands. The film goes back and forth to tell Ruth and Lena's story. How will it affect Hannah?

Fat adolescent Dik Trom enjoys growing up in a hedonistic town devoted to food and fun. Bennie now only has one wish left: that his father will come home. If need be, he will go and get him from Spain himself. He catches Roderick erasing his name from the Bad Children list in St. Nicholas’ Great Book when an idea occurs to him. He quickly adds his name to the list, which lands him a place in St. Nicholas’ bag. But the saint does not understand that Bennie doesn’t mind going to Spain.

Their lives have changed completely after 25 years, but 40 is the new 20 and every man should become more handsome with age... or not? Where Edwin is still a woman's magnet his friends have all their different problems. Marks has been swapped for a younger guy bu his wife and family man Peter is struggling with his manhood since a can't read anymore without putting on his reading glasses. How do these guy's handle these changes? Grabbing a beer, not much talking, pad on the back and drinking away you hangover with even more alcohol? Or do things go different when you pass the age of 40?
