In the wake of her arranged marriage, a young woman in Mauritius begins a job at a call centre. Her first steps toward independence have repercussions no one could have expected.

"Âme Cœur" tells the story of Shayna, who spends her first four years in an orphanage in South Africa. Later, she is adopted by Veer, a 50-year-old widower of Mauritian origin living in Johannesburg. Shayna, an artist devoted to painting, writing, and social projects, sees her life take a drastic turn when she suffers a stroke after a music and dance performance. Plunged into a coma for several days at the clinic, she is eventually taken off life support following Veer's traumatic decision, with the support of Dr. Jimmie. Veer then fulfills his daughter's last wish: to donate her organs.

During a lavish wedding party, long held grudges and the past sins of the rich and powerful collide to make sure revenge is indeed sweet.
