A child witnesses drug dealers murder his parents. He escapes and grows up wild in the city's slums. Years later he emerges to help the residents of the area who are being terrorized by street gangs and drug dealers.

Julia Kerbridge is working hard to get her doctorate. Suddenly, she finds herself the guardian of her young niece, Amanda, after the 7-year-old witnesses her parents' murder and is rendered mute. Julia soon discovers that her dead sister and brother-in-law may have held a secret life. Now, she must risk everything as the killers are still hunting Amanda for her parents' secret.

All the vampires have to take a special potion made by Ghyslain Chabot to be human. Chabot's wife isn't a vampire yet but wishes to become one. Ghyslain doesn't share her desire because of all the rules and responsibilities inherent in being a vampire. As a result, Ghyslain's wife throws him out of the house without the potion.
