After three years without children, Ravi and Preeti's marriage remains happy until Ravi's mother, Kenchana, interferes in their household affairs. Kenchana urges Ravi to marry another woman, claiming she wants to see her first grandchild before she passes away. Ravi and Preeti then try to have a child because Ravi cannot bear to be separated from his wife. At the same time, Preeti also seeks advice from her neighbor, Fatimah, on how to conceive. Fatimah gladly teaches Preeti but they are still unsuccessful. The relationship between Fatimah and Preeti upsets Kenchana. Kenchana becomes jealous because Preeti is closer to Fatimah than to her, despite being Preeti's mother-in-law. Kenchana complains about this to Ravi. Ravi dismisses it as a trivial matter, which further upsets Kenchana.

Peruvazhiyambalam is a 1979 Malayalam film directed by P. Padmarajan based on his novel of the same name. It marked Padmarajan's directorial debut and the acting debut for Ashokan who plays the central character Raman. The film is an incisive examination of how violence or totalitarianism works in our society; it dealt with disturbing questions relating to masculinity and how people adore and dread it at the same time. The Hindu described this film as one of the finest films in Malayalam. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. The film was included in IBN Live's list of 100 greatest Indian films of all time.

She meets with the Kotwal and pleads with him to forgive Pritam, which he does. Pritam is grateful to Sundari for saving his career, and both continue to romance each other. What Pritam does not know that Sundari belongs to a gang of thieves, the leader of which is her long-time boyfriend, currently in prison, a notorious gangster by the name of Rahu.

Six high-school classmates, three boys and three girls, coming from different strata of society, who have each their own problems in their respective families and escape from their homes, deciding to live together on their own with the help of an older friend of theirs.
