Marie-Reine Poyteau

In 1900, in an arid region of Berry, France, drought had been raging for over a year. The trees had dried up, the crops were lost, and the animals were dying of thirst. A desperate farmer appealed to an old woman who lived in an isolated tower. She promised him rain in exchange for a sacrifice: his newborn son.

In 1900, Marie sells pancakes made with mother’s milk at the market of a Breton village. The recipe is all the rage and all the villagers become addicted to it. One day Marie runs out of milk... but the peasants still ask for more.

Eka is a young Balinese living in a small village north of Bali. For love of Margaux, a French student expatriate on the island, Eka decided to learn how to compose music.
