Two teenage girls are making love. Then one of them suddenly turns into a boy. After a fever dream everything appears to be back to normal again. Yet it isn’t.

Atopia is an introspective essay about the search for a place that exists between reality and imagination: a placeless place made up out of dreams, chimeras and a desire for gender fluidity.

As far as they can remember, Marion, Claire and Louise have been living at the pace of their mother Alice’s ups and downs. Now, love is everything that they have left to fight the spiral of self-destruction in which Alice is sinking even more deeply. An unconditional love as violent as it is indescribable.
