A photographer on assignment arrives in town to photograph the statue of the Christ of Esquipulas--a black image--and instead comes face to face with her own destiny. Meanwhile, "The Mute," a local, speechless character awakens every morning with a much riskier mission: to find sustenance and shelter in order to survive.
