In this interpretation, this tale, which has been universally loved since time immemorial, is presented by the Takarazuka Revue of the love and fantasy-filled Reiwa Era in a way that’s sure to entertain. The times of Kuronosuke and Kira align, and love shines in the heart of Edo, in a clock romance ticking away in a world of baroque rock.

During the 18th century, at the height of Rococo culture, Giacomo Casanova charmed the ladies and enjoyed his earthly affairs as he traveled across Europe. Asuka Period, Japan. Ooama no Miko meets Nukata no Ookimi when he goes with his older brother (Nakano Ooe no Miko) to her house. There Nakano Ooe is wooing Nukata's older sister, and so the two younger siblings meet and fall in love. Five years later, Ooama and Nukata are married, and a daughter has just been born. Ooma talks happily to Nukata about his plans with his brother to jointly rule their empire of Yamato. As Nukata listens to his naive, happy chatter, she becomes uneasy. Later, Nakano Ooe arrives and tells Nukata that she has grown and become very lovely. He has fallen in love with her, and wants her for his own. Caught between the two brothers, Nukata flees back to her father's house.

Foreign-style painter Yuan Yamada is asked by the young shogun Ietsuna Tokugawa to tell him the truth about the rebellion in the Bizen Shimabara domain 20 years ago. Yuan begins to tell the story of Tokisada (Shiro) Amakusa, the man who stood up for the people and became venerated as a messiah. Inside the village of Poe a mysterious noble family takes residence with their son Edgar and ill daughter Marybell. Edgar is quickly intrigued by Allan, the heir of a transportation company, who catches his eye by almost running him over with a horse. Daniel is a gigolo. His patron is a wealthy woman who supports his law studies at university. One day Daniel’s patron discovers that the young man has a girlfriend. She immediately cuts off the supply of funds. Daniel is penniless and he is thrown out of his apartment. Stan, another gigolo and Daniel’s friend, concocts a plan to get rich. Daniel joins him in a plan to defraud the family of Mr. Norbert who has recently passed away by posing as one of the heirs. They threaten a lawyer and out of fear he joins them.

Set in the 1920s, Nice Work If You Can Get It is the story of charming and wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter, who meets rough female bootlegger Billie Bendix the weekend of his wedding. Jimmy, who has been married three (or is it four?) times before, is preparing to marry Eileen Evergreen, a self-obsessed modern dancer. Thinking Jimmy and Eileen will be out of town, Billie and her gang hide cases of alcohol the basement of Jimmy’s Long Island mansion. But when Jimmy, his wife-to-be and her prohibitionist family show up at the mansion for the wedding, Billie and her cohorts pose as servants, causing hijinks galore.

At the end of the Edo Period, there was a legendary chivalrous thief who stole from rich merchants and self-serving samurai and gave to the virtuous people of the town. His name was Nezumi-kozo (Rat Boy) Jirokichi. This musical is about how he competed with and was friends with the hero of so many period dramas (Touyama Kinshiro), and about the loves they surrounded themselves with in the new and progressive Japan. A Takarazuka take on the tale of Nezumi-kozo.
