When twelve-year-old Donn Fendler gets tired of waiting for his father and brothers to join him on the summit of Maine's highest peak, he decides to find his own way back to camp. But Donn doesn't count on a fast-moving fog that obscures the path. He doesn't count on falling down an embankment that hides him from sight. And he doesn't count on taking a turn that leaves him alone to wander aimlessly for nearly two weeks in the empty mountain wilderness.

In an attempt to prepare his son for the difficulties of the real world, Michael takes 'tough love' too far, leaving the future of their relationship uncertain.

In 1939, 12-year-old Donn Fendler was lost for 9 days in the woods of Maine near Mount Katahdin. His story of survival inspired the nation and his book, Lost on a Mountain in Maine, continues to inspire with its powerful themes of hope, faith, and the will to live. Follow Donn's story through the lens of two filmmakers trying to turn the story into a feature film. Through interviews and footage of Donn today, discover what an amazing man Donn is and what his story has meant to the state and people of Maine.
