Chile, 1970. During a night of heavy drinking, Jaime, a lonely 20-year-old young man, is sentenced to prison. Set in the extinct world of artisan mining in North Chile, this neo western centers the struggles and empowerment of a young woman, fighting to keep the family business against patriarchal structures and the law of the jungle.

Based on the work from Mariana Enriquez and directed by Pablo Larraín, My Sad Dead follows Ema, who can see and hear the dead. After her mother’s death, Ema receives an unexpected visit from her niece Julie, with whom she shares the same unsettling gift. With Julie’s return, family secrets and wounds that never fully healed will resurface —but so will a strange phenomenon from which no one will emerge unscathed. The entire neighborhood will sense presences and hear the distinctive sounds of their own dead.

"Golpe a golpe" (Family coup) was a Chilean television sitcom from the 1970s and 1980s. In this series, the family of the stern anti-communist dictator Augusto Pinochet found themselves forced to share their home with the spirit of the late former socialist president Salvador Allende, who was portrayed by a puppet. This short film aims to salvage this show's existence by extracting fragments from its surviving material.

A stolen phone, bad decisions and many acts of clumsiness will force three neighbors from Gran Avenida – an area in the south of Santiago – to face each other.
