Summer of 1945. The salute of the Great Victory died down and the country is gradually returning to peaceful life. From "fire yes into the fire" a young reconnaissance commander Volodya Sharapov falls, having come to the MUR for distribution, to the department for combating banditry. In the city the Black Cat gang rages, terrifying Muscovites. Captain Gleb Zheglov enters the fray with the bandits, for whom Sharapov soon becomes his right hand.

District inspector Pavel Khrapuntsov is “monitoring” a sect with a mystical bent in his neighborhood. The signals received by the police describe the actions of a certain Clementine, who knows how to turn people into animals and plants... A convinced materialist, Khrapuntsov does not immediately understand the complex world of Clementine and her friends.

Soviet geologist Viktor Klimenko with his guide and assistant, Yakut Nikol, fall into the trap of enterprising businessmen. They are going to conserve all the air in order to sell it monopoly, profit and dictate their will to the rest of the world.
