The poverty of Slovak workers during the Great Depression during the Masaryk Republic reached such a level that it led to a well-organized strike. The capitalists and their minions tried by all means to break it. Even the workers who had not yet been elected soon recognized their place and supported the initiative of the communists, who selflessly led the strike movement. The poster-like, purely ideological story succumbs to paper-like dialogues and plots, and the narrative portrayal hardly convinces of the credibility of the whole story.

The myth of the anti-fascist resistance in Slovakia was one of the important themes of normalization cinema, of course, treated with an emphasis on the leading role of the communists. This primitively illustrative film depicts the heroic enthusiasm shown by the members of the resistance group, heroically and with constant commitment of life fighting against the treacherous police of the Slovak state and ultimately against the German Gestapo.

An inconspicuous official Javorník pretends to have saved the director of the company from drowning, thanks to his qualities he gains his favor and rises in positions. He even becomes the director's brother-in-law and eventually replaces him in the position. he is given a job position for which he has absolutely no adequate skills. Javorník's professional and official rise is accompanied by his moral decline. However, another inconspicuous official appears near him and it seems that the carousel will repeat itself.

The story of the great strike of the workers building the Cervena Skala - Mergecany railway line

Police Lieutenant Vlado Hronec, together with the curious journalist Zvar, first search for the thief of important production documents, which they might be interested in even behind the Iron Curtain. At first, they think that engineer Kovalský stole them and fled with them across the border. However, when it is discovered that someone killed Kovalský, they have to start the investigation all over again...

Strong-willed peasant girl Katka disobeys her father and heads to the city to work in a factory, where no one knows quite what to make of her.

This dramatic story is situated in the town of Trnava of the 18th century. Painter Peter paints an altar-piece of the Martyrdom of St. Juliet and his model is a young girl. After his retirement, Jozef Rebro, a former chief state clerk, finds himself in a new situation. No longer able to overwork his subordinates, he becomes bored and begins to terrorize his family, his wife and daughter Olga and son František. The life on the poor Slovak hills, the lazy hills, where agriculture is at a primitive stage and where the shelves give a small harvest. Meanwhile, socialist industrialization is reaching an amazing boom in the valleys. Therefore, it is necessary to solve the problem of small farmers on poor farms and the lack of labor in ever-growing industrial enterprises. The film, based on the fate of Matěj Rendek, who returns to Slovakia after 18 years from America, and on the fate of his family, who have toiled for years on poor fields and slaved for a rich farmer, shows how this problem must be solved: an agricultural cooperative is established on the lazy hills, which, with the help of machines, can handle agricultural work better and with a significantly smaller number of laborers, and most of the lazy villagers leave to work at a large sawmill.
