After his plane crashes in Siberia, a Russian dancer, who defected to the West, is held prisoner in the Soviet Union. The KGB keeps him under watch and tries to convince him to become a dancer for the Kirov Academy of Ballet again. Determined to escape, he befriends a black American expatriate and his pregnant Russian wife, who agree to help him escape to the American Embassy.

Tragic love story about the photographer and explorer Felice Beato who travelled back to Japan in 1895 to seek his former wife O-Kiku. On the way he describes in a nostalgic letter to his brother how much he yearns for his lost love O-Kiku and how impotent he feels in an ancient Japan subject to rapid change. The journey takes him to Nagasaki and Moji, Onomichi, Mount Fuji, Yokohama and Tokyo. Places he once visited with his beloved and where he now no longer understands the people. Felice...Felice... is inspired by hand-coloured nineteenth century photos taken by e.g. Felice Beato, Sjimooka Renjo and Baron von Stilfried. A Christmas story set in contemporary London, about a woman, Debbie, who feels threatened by her husband, Koji, the Japanese gangster owner of a London nightclub. When Debbie tries to leave the country with her young son, Ricky, a mysterious figure named Nick (who may or may not be Father Christmas, or Santa Claus) is accidentally shot. Things get tough for Debbie and Ricky, but Nick offers resolution with a mix of practical assistance - and perhaps just the slightest touch of Christmas magic.
