When Andreas arrives in the remote valley in the Austrian Alps, he is only about four years old - nobody knows for sure. He grows up to become a skilled farmhand and, as a young man, joins a work crew that builds one of the first mountain railroads, bringing light and noise to the valley along with electricity. He also finds the love of his life in Marie, but their happiness is short-lived. Only many years later, when Andreas embarks on his final journey, she is with him once again. And in amazement Andreas looks back at all the years that lie behind him.

Three friends undermine the job-swapping in the company that exploits them and pull each other out of the swamp of capitalism (into which they will repeatedly fall).

The performances by Petra Morzé (as a mature thespian preparing for a video audition) and Marlene Hauser (as the daughter assisting her) illuminate this gently comical drama that intelligently touches on a range of issues within its brief running time.

Bruno Kreisky – Chancellor, statesman, reformer, global politician. No other Austrian politician has been the subject of so much writing and debate. How does one become someone like him? How does one become someone who can meet people of all views and social classes on equal footing? How does he navigate his way through life, love, and his convictions?

A psychiatrist and his blind girlfriend, bound by sinister interest. A school doctor, who lost more than work with her dismissal. Her brother, who will do everything for her. Vienna, 1995. Jasmin, Tamara, Valentin, Senad and Roman live near the northern border of Austria. Their lives repeatedly intersect and drift apart. The characters involved are young migrants from the former Yugoslavia, Romania, Poland and Austria itself. Strangers in a strange land, they feel a sense of loss in their new, temporary environment. The five-some meet and get close to each other, hopelessly clinging to friendships and relationships with no future. They frequent cafés and train stations dreaming of a better tomorrow. Often, they just fall back on the prospect of short-term affection in yet another doomed romantic or sexual encounter. Trying hard to suppress the memories of war and alienation, they try to find moral strength and warmth through one another.
