Pierre Perdrix has been enjoying an enchanted though restless existence since the enigmatic Juliette Webb burst into his life, a stranger who landed in his family's unique world like a meteorite, and who by her presence alone will force this tight-knit microcosm to redefie their boundaries and finally begin to fully live their lives.

Camille, 16 years old, shy and introverted, dreams of a different life, one far from her high school where she is constantly harassed by Nathalie, a schoolgirl with her other friends. Camille is very lonely, even if her parents (Michaël and Laurence) love her, but both of them don't have the time to listen and to notice their daughter's malaise. One day Laurence, Camille's mother, asks her to come with her to give a present to her father, Michaël. They both go to the pet shop.
