Farber is an American director, actor, writer, and producer from Chicago, Illinois. His work spans film, television, digital media, and music, with projects collectively generating hundreds of millions of views across global platforms. As a director and producer, he has collaborated with major labels including Universal Music Group, Warner Records, and Def Jam, as well as artists such as Chance the Rapper. Farber has established himself as a prolific director in the vertical micro-drama space, helming series for platforms including Dramabox, ReelShort, GoodShort, and Pine Drama, and more. His work as a director has and actor taken him across Los Angeles, London, Istanbul, Vancouver, San Diego, and Knoxville, earning both commercial success and international recognition. While in Chicago, he began his career as a production assistant on independent feature films before advancing into the assistant directing and producing ranks. He has served as assistant director on multiple feature films and previously worked as a staff video producer for iO Comedy Network. He studied film production at DePaul University and trained at acting studios throughout Chicago before moving to Los Angeles in 2019. As an actor, Farber made his television debut on the Season 7 premiere of NBC’s Chicago Fire and has since appeared in film and television projects across networks including NBC, FOX, Paramount, Lifetime, and VetTV. His work also includes digital comedy appearances for The Onion and Cracked. His directing has earned multiple festival awards, including Best Director and Best Short Film. In addition to his work in film and television, Farber is a singer-songwriter. His debut EP, hope to see you there!! (2025), blends folk-inspired instrumentation with an energetic, offbeat sensibility. Powered by creative anxiety and restless ambition, Farber continues to act and direct in projects that he creates for himself.
