A summer fling born under the Sicilian sun quickly develops into a heartbreaking love story that forces a boy and girl to grow up too quickly.

Nineteen-year-old Enzo and his twenty-year-old sister Carla have been left to fend for themselves for several years. When their father, Anthony, is released from prison, Enzo sees the fragile promise of a family to rebuild, unlike Carla, for whom the idea remains inconceivable. Haunted by his past, Enzo must confront a truth he has kept hidden for far too long.

Julien visits his 6 year-old daughter Cléa, whom he hasn't seen for a long time. As she does all she can to attract his attention, Julien is more interested in getting closer to Lucie, Cléa's mother, so the three of them can all live together again.

Taiti, 1903. Doctor, poet and artist Victor Segalen left France and headed for Hiva-Oa, to meet Gauguin personally. On his arrival on the island, he learns the painter had passed away. Adapted from the writings of Victor Segalen, Longe da Estrada is a very fine view of the work, life and contradictions of the great painter Paul Gauguin. And a modern analysis of the relationship between colonizers and colonized people.

Sanela, a Montenegrin of Muslim background who left the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s after her father was kidnapped and killed alongside other Muslims, comes back to the Balkans after twenty years abroad. She has betrayed her origins, erased her own culture, and become a true Westerner. They say the past is a foreign land and that the one who departs and the one who returns are not the same person.

Sixteen-year-old Diane exists exclusively through her mother's gaze. But this intensely close bond between Diane and her mother, Sophie, is becoming increasingly problematic for the teenager. At high school, she would like to be loved like she is at home and expresses it in an awkward way like when she exchanges a favor for a look, in the toilets. A loudmouth, provocative, and seeking attention, Diane tries to stand apart from her mother and wishes, during a weekend, to live like an adult.
