Rich is a thirty year-old filmmaker whose career seems to go nowhere. While wasting his days in Tequesquitengo, he falls in love with Daniela, a young woman who shares his place in the world, but not the same feelings. A weekend with her and her young friends will make him question his life so far and his concept of love.

Manolo has decided to end his life and needs assistance. He has convinced Esmeralda, the caretaker of his hacienda, under the promise of leaving her the resources she needs to go live with her daughter and granddaughter in Baltimore.
