Inspired by a Buddhist ritual for grieving abortions, a Japanese-American woman reevaluates what it means to end her own pregnancy.

A collective introspection among the filmmaker’s high school friend group that explores the manifestation of unspoken memories, following the rhythms of the seventeen year cicada emergence in Virginia.

During a period of isolation, the filmmaker returned to recordings of stories told by her grandmother, who shares episodes from her youth without sentimentality. Using home movies from her grandmother's life and her own as the base for handmade animation loops, she repetitively and obsessively listened and drew, while lingering in the feeling of what it means to be stuck.

Taking place over the course of a single day and night, five vignettes tell the story of five New Yorkers who find that their personal relationships to light mirror much larger systems of power playing out across the city.
