Like an antiquated nature documentary from Mars, The Ordovicians fills the screen with weirdly twitching objects.

Animated iterations and recursions made 64 with 2" x 3" collages form a hypnotic bombardment of color and shapes, accompanied by music from Malian artist Luka Productions. 'This was an accidental animation. It started as a series of collages I cut up into small pieces so I could give them away, and ended up animating them under the camera before parting with them. " - Lisa Barcy

Told with cut-out puppets and sand animation, 'Mermaid' is the story of Carl and Doris, the darlings of marine biology whose marriage becomes strained under the weight of the giant squid. A film resplendent with love, betrayal, and crustaceans.

Tattered paper dolls dream of alternate realities while quietly exploring the secret lives of their young caregivers. Created with found paper dolls cut from a 1920s newspaper, the film also explores the adult world's influences over young girls, and the girls' talents for discovering forbidden truths.
