Álvaro Retana’s family has opened their personal archive to recover the figure of their grandfather, a creator as essential as he is currently unknown. In addition, extensive research was conducted in the files of numerous archives and museums. All this work brings to the present a world of color, freedom, revolutionary frivolity, and compulsive creativity, which he left behind in a legacy of over a hundred novels, more than 1,000 cuplés (perhaps the most well-known being Las tardes del Ritz, Ven y ven, La pulga...), hundreds of costume designs, drawings, and more.

God Sees It is a journey into the creative universe of Oscar Tusquets, one of the most fascinating figures of the last sixty years as well as one-of-a-kind character of the gauche divine, in whose mind art, irony, and rebellion coexist. The film traces an inimitable career, from his beginnings in Barcelona, quietly rebelling against the backdrop of the dictatorship, and his collaborations with Salvador Dalí, to his interventions in the Palau de la Musica Catalana or the unique Toledo metro station in Naples. If this is not enough, the film is filled with reflections and conversations on art with friends like Miquel Barceló, Albert Serra, Mario Vargas Llosa or Julia de Castro.

Show nominated for the Premios Valle Inclán. As the duo explains, De La Puríssima was born in 2009 “as a transit project, in which music was the most direct and ritualistic medium from which to raise core issues such as sex, bullfighting, folklore or religion”. Now, a decade later, it is time to remove the peineta and celebrate the end of a stage in which the provocative lyrics by Julia de Castro have traveled through numerous audiences to bring up to date a genre that was in the forgetfulness of national folklore, the cuplé.
