A century after a village and its paper mill were abandoned, a group of actors is tasked with recreating the fantasized daily life of its inhabitants.

In the woods, a mother and her daughter spend a weekend vacation at the cabin. They organize a traditional barbecue evening with their old friends living on the other side of the lake. However, the Lapointe family never shows up. Increasingly disturbing events threaten the safety of the two women, but above all their sanity. The lake cools and darkens, danger lurks nearby.
