A misanthropic, struggling photographer just wants to watch TV and eat candy while his wife is out of town, but when a desperate old pal resurfaces, his plans are thwarted, with spooky consequences.

Set in 2006, the band Stylo and the Murder Dogs score a shot to play on the local news. But as all of their dreams start to become reality, the band's egocentric singer-songwriter threatens to make them lose everything.

Wendy has learned that the bank is coming to foreclose on the diner unless they get their books in order, which she doesn’t know how to do. While Milius urges her to stand up to the bank “goons”, two volcanologists complain about the slow service. Their whining is cut short by a one-in-a-million volcanic eruption.
