Alexey Artamonov

Based on the play of the same name by A. Galin, staged by the Central Academic Theatre of the Soviet Army. Konstantin Ivanovich Ermolayev, who had been driving locomotives for many years, was offered a dispatcher job due to his approaching retirement age. He refuses to accept this and goes to his wartime friend Pankratov for advice.

After the theater's commission rejected Andrey's directorial work, he left to work as a simple projectionist in a cinema. The director of the Vakhonin theater, having learned that Andrey has his own booth, immediately decided to use it, inviting the actress of his troupe Tatiana to watch the film. 1947 ... The Savchenko family returns to Moscow from evacuation - husband and wife with Kostya's little son. They settle with Grandma Kostya in a huge communal apartment. Street meets the boy with a flock of local boys. Then there were: the division of the territory with the "Sretensky"; trophy movie “Girl of my dreams”; a school with separate education, camp discipline and essays about the border guard Karatsyup. And the monetary reform of 1947, when all of their savings depreciated in an instant, and the boys let out boats from banknotes in puddles.

Molly Egan, an almshouse resident, takes part in picketing a laboratory developing nuclear weapons. Judge Henry Pulaski finds her guilty of “trespassing.” Not heeding his warning, Molly again participates in the picket, for which she goes to prison.
