Angelos, a poor but honest employee, works at a gas station to make ends meet. However, what he has is not enough, and he dreams of wealth, love, and a great life. Voulis promises him that he will get everything he wants, even the beautiful Olga, as long as he sells his soul to the devil!

Vagos is a folk singer and works at Specula's shop. His dream is a trip to Seychelles. So he decides to open his own nightclub with money borrowed from his son-in-law. But he falls victim to a theft in the contractor's office that would have closed his space. The leader of the gang is Lakis Kontogiorgos with his girlfriend, Mina, carrying out his orders. Lakis gambles the money and loses it. He pressures Mina to continue the robberies but she leaves him in disgust and gets a job as a singer at Specula's shop. Although the vagus understands who she is, he falls in love with her. Everything will be fine and eventually Vagos will manage to go to the Seychelles with Mina by his side.

Sofia is hired as a teacher at a private school, while Fanis, despite being a graduate, is hired as a janitor. Sofia is heavily in debt and in danger of losing her home. So she decides, with Fanis' help, to appear at Miltos' nightclub as "Lolita"...

After several years of marriage, Kosmas and Kiki's marriage is in crisis. Kiki wants to have a child, but Kosmas does not. Kiki wants to make love, but Kosmas finds a bunch of excuses. One day, when he comes home, he finds her in bed with the postman. All hell breaks loose, and Kiki grabs her suitcase and leaves. Lakis, a friend and colleague at the small ready-to-wear clothing factory, tries to calm things down, but to no avail. Kosmas is elated now that he has found his freedom. Set during the Greek civil war. A villager is forced to leave his house and property and go to Thessaloniki with his daughter and son. They find refuge in an old building with hundreds of other people. They live a miserable life as the daughter becomes a whore, and the son has to work.

A failed musician in a forgotten neighborhood piano bar, an incompetent lover and insecure since childhood, it seems that no one can save Johnny from his personal impasse. Takis, however, an unstable taxi driver, will appear out of nowhere to change his life forever.

Two parallel stories complement each other. The first recounts the investigation of a journalist and an actress who, through a radio program, attempt to identify parallels between terrorist acts of the present and the past. The second takes us back to 1948 and describes the events that led to the murder of American journalist George Polk in Thessaloniki, guided by the investigation of the two protagonists and the testimonies of various individuals.
