Thirteen-year-old nobleman and orphan Vanya Ogarev flees from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod, fleeing assassins sent by his own uncle, who decided to take possession of the boy's inheritance. To protect himself, Vanya hires a random fist fighter named Volchok.

Old Oleg Batorov is quietly living out his life in the Far Eastern wilderness, when suddenly his granddaughter Vera comes to him in the company of her boyfriend Kolya.
