Naur Garmelia

The plot unwinds in the Soviet time Sukhumi of the 70s. A young guy Makhaz comes over to the city, and thanks to his brilliant drawing skills easily enters the Sukhumi School of Art. However, as the character claims, he couldn’t make it to graduation because of falling in love. The movie tells a story of hardship he goes through after meeting his beloved one.

Early 90s. The carefree youth of St. Petersburg of three friends, students from Abkhazia, abruptly ends with the news about the beginning of the war in their homeland. And now the guys are on the train, leaving behind their studies, their usual life, youth and everything that worried them yesterday.

A Russian family lives in an Abkhazian town, which was destroyed by the war. They grow hazelnuts for sale and hope to get rich thanks to the sudden "nut fever", the soaring prices of Abkhazian nuts. But a gang appears in the village stealing nuts.

A ten-year-old boy lives in a small village in the mountains with his father, who is very sick. They till, ranch the cattle, make cheese. The only connection of this peaceful life with the outer world is a bridge. And the outer world is destroyed by war... Once the boy crosses the bridge and goes to the market square to sell cheese. This journey shows him the world full of strange and beautiful things. But death is always near and war can happen again any moment. When the boy returns home, he finds his father lying on the ground. In spite of all the danger, the little boy tries to save his father and to stand against the cruelty of life.
