In an ordinary industrial Soviet town, notable only for presence of a radio-telescope, people start behaving strangely, in a robotic manner, while assuming geometry-inspired aliases and organizing into a new hierarchy. The phenomenon spreads via a device of alien origin, called “the mediator”, capable of implanting extraterrestrial minds into human bodies. The aliens are bound by limitations of the terrestrial technology, having to use the means at the disposal of humans to prepare the grounds for the full-scale invasion. With “the mediator" being unable to subdue minds of children, lunatics, geniuses, and rebels, a struggle over the fate of the town and the human civilization ensues.

A narcissistic man realizes that his devoted wife was the main person in his life only after her death. He goes to the past to repent to her, and also to find an answer to the question why, secretly from him, she wished to be buried by the old grave of a stranger...

In a nightclub, a handsome and beautiful dancer Maxim meets a young girl Masha from Konotop. They waltz to the delight of everyone present. Soon, by chance, Masha comes to get a job in the capital real estate agency, which is run by Maxim. He not only takes the girl to work, but also falls in love with her and even, having parted with all his numerous mistresses, decides to get married. But Masha suddenly disappears.

Many myths, stories and traditions are associated with the lime tree, going back to the Middle Ages, Celtic times and as far back as Ancient Greece. In Russia, the story goes, that on discovering his lover's infidelity, landowner Pavel Kazantsev was so heartbroken that he could not forgive Anastasia's disloyalty and buried her alive. He planted a lime tree to mark the spot where she lay, and years later villagers still go to the tree to ask Anastasia for help, particularly in affairs of the heart. Marina is the wife of a successful businessman also coincidentally called Pavel Kazantsev. One day, after a family quarrel, Pavel takes Marina to their country house where she discovers that Oleg has a lover - Anastasia. Marina soon learns about the legend of Anastasia's tree from the local villagers. The coincidence with names is disturbing, but a worse discovery is still to come.

This movie consists of 3 stories the author of which is the invented character Scribbler. The film tells about the female part in the male life; about the male destination as of the Creator and about his hidden fears and disappointments. The plot of the movie reminds the mosaic: it gets it full realization in the very end.
