Once upon a time, a man who was afraid of heights jumped with a parachute from a hotel on New Year's Eve, a couple who couldn’t get married for five years due to grief, two Turkish stars forced to stay in the same room, a young man who could not confess his love due to indecision, a boy who brought a girl he did not know to the hotel as his wife, Santa Claus, a gnome and several other families who did not believe in New Year's miracles. But they could never have imagined that on this very night, each of their wishes would miraculously come true, their lives would turn into a fairy tale...

“Urban Motives 4.1” is an anthology film consists of 5 short movies by 5 Azerbaijani directors. The first, by Anar Abbasov, is about a relationship between a man and women who live next door; second, by Ru Hasanov, is about a life of a musician who is different from others with his mentality; third, by Teymur Ismayilov, tells a story of a young worker who has his own dreams; fourth, by Jafar Akhundzade, is about traumas caused by war; and the last one, by Vugar Islamzadeh, is a story about a criminal group and an officer who wants to take revenge.

After being falsely arrested, the main character is put in Guantanamo, a place similar to Alcatraz prison. He thinks of a plan to escape to prove his innocence. But it is impossible to escape from this prison.

Veronika grew up without a father: twenty years ago, he abandoned her mother, a provincial girl who was seven months pregnant. During premature labor, her mother died. Veronika was raised by her aunt, who, once her niece was grown, revealed the truth: her father’s name is Fyodor Slavyanov, a scientist and head of a large research institute, now living in Moscow. Determined to find him and avenge her mother’s death, Veronika sets out for the capital. She takes a job as a maid in her father’s house and, suppressing her own nature, begins a “guerrilla campaign,” carefully nurturing her hatred for the “scoundrel.” In the absence of fatherly love, she tries at least to provoke a response of hatred. But then, into the family home arrives Fyodor’s son with his wife Marina — Vladimir…

The main characters of the film are Zhenya and Volodya: these are young guys from wealthy families who have been friends since childhood, both work in the company of Volodya’s father and are fond of motor sports. Volodya has a bride, Olga, but, as Zhenya becomes aware, she is going to marry solely for selfish ends. A friend refuses to believe it, and then Eugene decides to prevent the tragedy on her own. Mercilessly and publicly, he breaks down the wedding, loses a friend and breaks the heart of Tanya, Olga's sister, who is selflessly and secretly in love with him. The whole story takes place against the backdrop of upheavals within the Zhenya’s family: the mother threw them with her sister Sveta into the care of her father, as a result, Sveta is closed and pathologically unsure of herself, and the imperious father is constantly dissatisfied with his children.

An uncle and his nephew travel to the capital to sell fruits and vegetables. On the way, they sell a sack of “thyme” that was meant for someone else. It turns out the sack didn’t actually contain thyme. Escaping from the owner of this deposit — worth millions — turns out to be a complicated matter.
