Mimi, an unsophisticated American girl attending an exclusive Swiss boarding school, unexpectedly inherits a large fortune. Returning to the United States she quickly begins to live a wild and reckless life. Good-natured Joe attempts to set her straight, but she keeps right on living riotously. It takes Mimi a serious accident while joyriding to comes to her senses and realize she is ready for a more settled existence.

To enliven their business, the O'Tooles, restaurant owners in Hoboken, New Jersey, transform their restaurant into the Russian Inn when they hear that a famous Russian princess is stranded in Chicago. Sheila, the daughter, is persuaded to impersonate the princess, who unfortunately arrives at the restaurant on opening night.

In order to land an important client, Morgan is obliged to escort a beautiful redhead to a costume ball. Finding out about this, and suspecting that some hanky-panky is involved, Morgan's wife Angela dons a mask and a red wig and offers herself as the companion of her unwitting hubby. Angela's jealousy-motivated subterfuge works to everyone's advantage when she manages to cinch the deal for Morgan.
