In 2006, Detective Chang leads a police investigation into a murder committed in a public marketplace. Liguo is an aspiring cartoonist. Forced by reality he had to work an advertising agency. In order to chase his dream he quit his day job. Yulian is Liguo's fiancée who loves him very much and wanted to marry him. However, Liuguo met another woman and fell in love with her.

Two drama companies happened to share one auditorium for rehearsal. Friction was inevitable. One of them played 'Peach Blossom', a comedy in medieval costume. Another played 'Secret Love', a sad story with contemporary setting. Though unreconciled in all aspects, they find themselves telling the same story: the story of Chinese people forced to leave home.

While traveling, she encounters a young man named Alex who insists on accompanying her as a tour guide. They become close as they travel together but Ji Ling, upon discovering the young man's secret, feels betrayed and continues on her own. On her way to the holy Meili Snow Mountain she meets more disaster. During the long journey in Shangri-la, Ji Ling finds her own way to face the death of her child.
