The story of a woman returning from a labor camp. She is looking for a person, on whose denunciation she was arrested, in order to take revenge on him, but having completed her judgment, she realizes that revenge is meaningless.

The main character of the story, 18-year-old Ilya Rozov (Nikita Presnyakov) comes to the Moscow branch of Raybank and gets a job as a cleaner. Ilyusha easily gets along with people and even enjoys some popularity, mainly due to his helpfulness, when suddenly he loses his job due to a minor offense.

Gera, a respected director of TV commercials, thinks he's capable of creating a fiction movie masterpiece. Predictably, he ends up with owning money to a mafia and no film to show for. To make his life even crazier he falls in love with a girl who belongs to the boss of mafia.

After his marriage with Lyuba breaks down, Boris begins to search for an apartment of his own. He locates an apartment for couples which is being inhabited by a lone old lady who is supposed to move in with her sister. The old lady doesn't want to go, and tries to stave off the inevitable by taking in a young woman Elya as a flat-mate.

The film is based on a conflict between the director of a textile mill and the chief engineer, who regards the initiative of the director for automation of the enterprise as a projection project. However, thanks to young specialists, the director achieves the implementation of his plans by solving the demographic problem of the textile town and providing men with jobs.

Short stories that seem to be absolutely different, none of the main characters is connected with the other one, each following story is totally unlike the previous one. Only in the end of the film the viewer gets the clear explanation of the neighborhood of the described destinies and the connection between the characters.
