A sensitive and intimate portrait of Ivanna, a nomadic reindeer herder in the Russian Arctic and mother of five small kids. Ivanna is forced to leave the traditional way of life and emigrate to the city, following her own dreams, due to the quickly deteriorating conditions of life in the tundra. We follow her life for several years.

Carlos has been just born. He is the sweetest of the babies, but his grandmother is very sorry that he’s was born dark skin. Grandfather Sergey Mikhailovich wants to drink to the health of his grandson and celebrate this event, but grandmother doesn’t allows him to drink. Grandfather wants Carlos to know that he was born in the Great Russian Empire. This is Carlos’s first new year, and I made a movie so that he would remember it, and to talk about hilarious and painful things happening in my new family.

Fabrice is a journalist from the Congo who fled to Russia to save his life from political repression. In Russia, he is fighting for survival and the right to receive political asylum, which the Russian authorities deny him.
