Stella loves the old treasures she sells as an auctioneer . But before they start their projectimplement , she receives an invitation to the reading of the will of a Lord Willoughby, of whom she has never heard . Curious , she makes her way to Cornwall . There they are awaited by an impressive property and the attractive architect David, who after the death of theLords temporarily looking after the estate . When she is greeted by the cranky old butler James with "Countess of Willoughby" , she is stunned. In addition to Stella , the Lord's second wife, June , and her sister Virginia are present at the reading of the will . To the all-roundTo their surprise , they learn that Stella is the Lord 's granddaughter . Stella 's father had chosen his civil love and had been cast out as a result .

East Friesian Otto moves to the big city Hamburg. There he gets into trouble with a loan shark and needs to find a way to impress his love interest Silvia.

Chuffie & JD, both street dogs, meet a talking parrot named Emmo who has lost his owner. The dogs try and eat Emmo, but in order to save his life, the parrot promises them a new home with his owner, the wealthy Miss Lilly. The two dogs feel right at home at their new mansion, along with Miss Lilly's other pets (all strays): the beautiful Bella, the frisky Velvet, and the guard dog Sherman. Unfortuantely, it doesn't take long for Miss Lilly to "kick the bucket", and the dogs' future is in jeapordy, especially since Miss Lilly's scheaming niece & nephew, Ronnie & Hannie, have had their eyes on the estate for quite some time. When the will reveals that the pets are to inherit the estate (including the mansion and one million dollars!), the twins decide to take matters into their own hands to try and get what they think they deserve. It's up to JD, Chuffie, Emmo, Bella, Sherman, and Velvet to stop the twins.

24 hours on the border between East and West Germany. In an outlying West Berlin district, police officers chat about their personal lives, take care of petty offence and at most, warn the odd rubbernecker away from the border to the “Soviet zone”. Meanwhile their East German counterparts are under enormous pressure. The day begins with disciplinary action after one of the border guards was found sleeping on duty. The supervisors demand utmost vigilance and a solid ideological bent, and suspicion and mistrust are the rule within the ranks of these soldiers of the National People’s Army (NVA).
