The film is based on the novel of the same name by Nikos Kasdaglis and deals with the experiences of a group of soldiers during their military service in 1953, four years after the civil war.

Martha and Nikos, a married couple, frequently engage in jealous behavior toward each other. When Nikos leaves for a business trip to Rhodes, Martha decides to follow him to the airport. On the way, she is involved in an accident with her car and is forced to drive the victim to her home. However, Nikos' flight is canceled due to bad weather and he returns home...

Andreas, a blind shepherd, is the only man left in the village of Platanos, since all the others have left to seek work in Athens. The women of the village treat him as a sexual object, until a maid helps him regain his sight and escape the exploitation of the other women.
