Mary Bunting is sitting alone when to her surprise and delight a rabbit six foot tall - elegantly dressed in frock coat and fancy waistcoat - appears. As he is a magic rabbit, he can be seen only by Mary, which naturally creates great confusion and misunderstanding.

A young postman, who fronts a pop group, dreams of being bigger than The Beatles. They record a demo tape, but things seem to be going pear shaped when he loses the tape. There is also his father to contend with who thinks he's wasting his time with all that pop music nonsense.

Unscrupulous business Sir Pierson Cale is determined to win the contract to build a power station. He sees John Hamilton as someone who can get the job done but he wants him to bid half a million less than his nearest competitor.
